- The USSR put nukes in Cuba to scary the US
- people were scared when the president announcement that the had everything under control and military was on it. people thought USSR would respond with nuclear war
- USSR was the first one to go to space in April 12, 1961
- After USSR went to space USA made sure they were the first on the moon
