- I must tell you that I have received orders to deport all Danish Jews.
- Ellen, you have to hide here with us and pretend to be my sister Lise who died in a car crash.
- Copenhagen, Denmark 1943
- What will become of my family? The Nazis are already suspicious because I don't look like Annemarie and her family.
- I've got to tell the rabbi and our neighbors in the Jewish community!
- The Jewish stores have been closed and the Rosens need to leave right away!
- What's happening?
- Peter brought us news from the Resistance. Our friends are not safe.
- Pssst! Ellen, hide your Star of David!
- We have a list! I'm looking for the Rosens and their daughter Ellen!
- It's just us Johansens and our three daughters.
- Annemarie, you girls get ready to go to your great aunt's funeral.
- Mama! Papa!
- Ellen!
- This isn't a real funeral?
- My brother Henrik will take them to Sweden in his boat. Hurry! I'll bring the Rosens.
- No. We have hidden blankets and supplies in the empty casket to help the Rosens and other Jews escape.
- Annemarie, your mother has broken her ankle. You need to deliver an important package to your uncle Henrik right away!
- Stop! Let me see what's in that basket!
- Just a handkerchief. You can go.

- Goodbye Annemarie!
- The handkerchief hid the scent of our friends in the bottom of the boat from the Nazi dogs. You were brave just like your sister Lise. Because of you Ellen is safe now.
- The war is over! Soon Ellen can return and I will give her the Star of David I have been saving for her.
