  • In 1803, the U.S bought the Louisiana Purchase from France for $15 million which doubled the size of the U.S.(The box is the land). This started the Western Expansion.
  • The Battle of Alamo
  • In 1804, Thomas Jefferson asked William Clark and Meriwether Lewis to explore with 38 other men called The Corps of Expedition the land bought from the Louisiana Purchase and they came back on March 23, 1806.
  • The Oregon Trail
  • In 1831, Thomas Jefferson signed the Indian Removal Act which started the Trail of tears. More than 100,000 Indians were forced out of their homes to live in the Indian Territory.
  • The Gold Rush
  • On February 23, 1836, the Battle of Alamo had just started. This 13-day battle will have all of the Texans killed. The rebels were outnumbered and outmatched.
  • Traveling The Oregon Trail was no easy breeze. They had to be careful with rattlesnakes, drowning, dangerous outbreaks of Cholera, Measles, and lots of other things. The Trail was more than 2,000 miles long.
  • From 1841 to 1855 the Gold Rush was in full swing.The first gold was founded by James Marshall in Upper Calfinona. He tried to keep it a secret, but it was shared all around the world.
