Acquisition of Fire
Storyboard Text
- Prometheus and his brother were titans who fought against other titans in a war with the gods of Olympus, and after they won, the gods asked that prometheus and his brother to create the first humans.
- But these people were not happy because the world was cold and they were living in caves and holes. They were also hunted by other beasts, this upsetted Prometheus because he wanted the humans to succeed.
- Prometheus begged Zeus for the humans to have fire but Zeus said no.
- Please Zeus I am begging you, give the humans fire, they will be warm and can cook food.
- No! They will become wise and powerful like us! I don't want that to happen, so no I will not give them fire.
- But Prometheus cared for the humans, so he took a spark of Zeus' thunderbolt on a piece of wood, catching fire and brang it down from Mount Olympus. He also taught them how to cook and warm themselves using fire.
- Zeus soon realised when he looked down at the Earth one cold winters day seeing the Humans happy and sitting around a fire.
- Zeus punished Prometheus by attaching him to a rock and have his liver eaten out every day. But Prometheus was happy, because he helped the humans.
