- The scene shows the three murderers hiding in the bushes near the stable, the sky dark and drizzling.

- Give me some light, boy. The night grows dark. It will rain soon
- Banquo and Fleance enter the stable, holding a torch, unaware of the murderers nearby.
- Glida: 3
- Banquo! He’s alone, apart from the boy. We strike now
- As Banquo dismounts, the murderers prepare their attack.
- Glida: 4
- Fly, good Fleance! Seek revenge for me!
- One murderer strikes Banquo. Banquo falls but shouts to Fleance.
- Glida: 5
- Let's head to Macbeth. At least Banquo lies dead.
- The torch goes out. The murderers realize Fleance has escaped.
- Glida: 6
- Half a victory won. Let’s hope the boy doesn’t live to return.
- The murderers leave Banquo’s body and walk away into the night, frustrated but determined to report to Macbeth.

- Macbeth sent me to join you. Are we ready for Banquo and his son?
- The stable is a mile from the castle. Let us walk.
- I hear horses approaching. That must be them!
- The boy is gone! We failed to finish the task.
- We missed the boy, but Macbeth will be pleased with Banquo’s death.
