- Anne Frank was born 1929. In 1933 Hilter came into power. Then in 1942 Anne got a journal for her 13 birthday. Shortly after that her and her family went into hiding in order to hide from the Nazis. After she went into hiding she started to write about her everyday life, her thoughts and feelings.

- On August 4 1944 Anne Frank and her family was discovered and arrested along with the 2 people who helped the family hide. Only a year later in February 1945 Anne Frank’s whole family died except for Otto Frank, Anne Frank’s dad. When her father had been released he had found the diary and published it in 1947 in Dutch. In 1952 it was translated into English, from there the diary was translated into more than 70 languages, including french, Chinese and many more. Later in 1960 Anne Franks hideaway home opened to the public as a museum.
- Now its almost 80 years since Anne Frank wrote in her diary. Her diary had sold over 30 million copies. Her diary helped people more about what happened during when Hitler was in power and the life of a Jewish person during these horrible times.
