- While on his trip he had taken a detour and ended up in a erie swamp and ends up meeting the devil the devil the proposes a deal with tom and tom ends up declining When he told his wife the wife left him and never returned

- Tom walker ended up going to find his wife and only found a liver and an apron. Seeing that she is now missing the devil tries to make a deal with the devil for his own benifical gain

- Tom walker and the devil had made an agreement that tom walker had made a buissness becoming a loan shark and getting peoples trust. He ended becoming quiet rich and ended working to his favor
- Tom walker in his old age started to regret his decision with the devil and ended up becoming a holy man, but the day he feared for had come to fruition as the devil had come to collect from tom walker, which was his own soul
