  • In the Middle East, it was common to use water from small streams, oceans, and oases to grow crops. It was also widely considered that a lot of water was also gained from the native foods, such as dates, cacti and fish.
  • Meanwhile, during the Joseon Renaissance, it was common for households to consume water a lot, it was available in lots of rivers, lakes and coast waters, allowing for heightened growth of civilization. Water was often stored via rainwater harvesting, a method of water storage that involved using roof tiles to move rain for storage.

  • Over time, trade of materials and ideas were able to spread more useful methods of storing and consuming water. This water and its resourcefulness allowed for the development of entire societies: improvisations in aquatic transportation, naval weaponry, and agriculture and hydraulics were soon to emerge within just a few decades.

  • Nowadays, in short, the UAE tends to focus on water conservation, whereas Korea tends to focus on water consumption.
