Unbearable Warming

- Climate change causes extremes in temperatures. Higher temperatures will occur due to the greenhouse effect, when gases become trapped in the atmosphere and stop the release of heat. With all this, farming will become significantly harder as heat waves and droughts will become more frequent.

- Global warming has destroyed farmer's livelihoods!
- Inaddition to the heat in the south, the north will see similar effects. Permafrost will melt and create new farmable land. People will travel north because of these new opportunities for agriculture.

- Polar bears will have their ice melted and have to move farther inland, this leads them closer to us.
- Polar bear attacks, though still rare, are on the rise. They have been wandering into human settlements looking for food.

- This will lead to the extermination of polar bears and therefore...
- … a disruption in a major food chain of Canada. Polar bears are a predator of seal and dolphins and reduce their population as a result. With a lowered number of polar bears, there would be a unregulated growth of prey. The food and other resources the prey need would not be enough to supply them all.
