Storyboard Text

  • After taking over as leader of this group of animals, Napoleon began to make outrageous and unreasonable demands for the animals living on the farm. While they completed their tasks, Napoleon and his group of pigs lived an extraordinary and comfortable lifestyle.
  • I WANT A WINDMILL BUILT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! YOU ANIMALS WILL WORK ALL NIGHT!
  • The animals other than the pigs found it challenging to even tell the difference between the pigs and humans. Napoleon and his associates were now standing and walking on two legs and were way more educated than the others.
  • SYMBOLISM
  • Animal Farm, often referred to as the Manor Farm in the novel's beginning and conclusion, is a metaphor for the Soviet Union and Russia under Communist Party control. However, in a broader sense, Animal Farm represents all human societies, whether they be capitalist, socialist, fascist, or communist. It has a government, an armed forces, a working class (represented by the other animals), as well as national holidays and customs.
  • Animal Farm's barn, on which the pigs painted the Seven Commandments and subsequently their amendments, serves as a metaphor for the collective memory of a contemporary society. The numerous instances in which the ruling class pigs modify the tenets of animalism and the working class animals are left perplexed but willing to accept these changes show how a powerful institution may change how a group views history in order to strengthen its hold on power.
