Storyboard Text

  • Oh my! What is that floating over there?
  • Hahaha poor Perseus couldn't bring a gift! Instead bring me a gift won by your efforts, the head of Gorgon Medusa shall suffice.
  • !?!?! Very well your majesty.
  • Perseus, these are gifts from the gods to help you on you journey.
  • A fisherman came across a wooden chest floating in the water, he used his net to bring it ashore. Inside was an unconscious woman and a child whose name was Perseus. The mother and son began to live on the island of Seriphos.
  • In time, Perseus had reached manhood and the king of the island demanded Perseus's mother Danaë in marriage, who refused. The king, Polydectes infuriated then announced that he would marry a neighbouring princess and hosted a celebration. Everyone brought a gift but Perseus could not bring any. Polydectes then told him to bring the head of Gorgon Medusa, expecting and wanting him to die on the journey.
  • Who are you dear maiden?
  • I am Andromeda, daughter of Queen Cassiopeia
  • As Perseus was on his journey he met Pallas, Athene and, Hermes who were the messengers of the gods. They helped Persues by giving him supernatural aids. Pallas gave him a brightly-polished shield of bronze. Athene gave him the knowledge to never look directly at Medusa's face. Lastly, Hermes lent him winged sandals and a sickle of adamant. They also gave him advice as to where he can get more information.
  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Here is the promised gift, O King.
  • Following the messengers' advice, Perseus went to the Graeae and received information, a helmet of invisibility, and a leather wallet. When Perseus got to the Gorgons' rock, Medusa was sleeping. Perseus hovered above Medusa and struck off her head and then he escaped.
  • On his way back Perseus saw a maiden named Andromeda. She was chained to a rock and was left to be a sacrifice for the sea monster sent by Nereus, the sea god. As Perseus was talking to Andromeda the sea monster appeared and was swimming towards her. Perseus took out Medusa's head and held it in front of the sea monster, which then turned to rock. Andromeda's parents then gave her to Perseus in marriage and they both returned to Seriphos together.
  • When Perseus reached Seriphos he found out that Ploydectes was still pursuing Danaë. Perseus headed to the palace where the king and nobles were still celebrating and showed them the head of Medusa. They were all shocked as ever and then Perseus left the kingdom to Dictys, Polydectes brother and the fisherman who found Perseus. He then left Seriphos with his mom and wife.
