- " which way did he go, Miss Caroline?"
- "I was just walking by when it crawled out of his hair... just crawled out of his hair-"
- " There's no need to be scared of a cootie ma'am, just go back to you desk and tech us some more."
- "You mean him, ma'am? yessum, he's alive. Did he scare you some way?"
- "What is your name, son?"
- "Well Burris I want you to go home and wash up."
- Burris makes sure Miss Caroline was crying before he left the building.
- "Go home! You ain't makin' me go nowhere, missus. You just remember that, you ain't makin' me go nowhere!"
- "Who me? Burris Ewell."
- "Sarah what's that on you head, that nasty!"
- "Oh I don't know, get it out!"
- "Ella don't be mean!"
- "Mrs. Z, before we go in I thought I should tell you that Sarah has lice i saw one on her outside."
- "Ok Ella thank you for letting me know, I'll take of it."
- Sarah is the only one with lice and has to go the office to be picked up.
- "ok students, i have just been told that one of you has lice and we have to check to prevent it from spreading.'
- "Ok Sarah come please."
