- Well, some kids are non-verbal so devices called Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices can help them speak...
- You can download apps on the IPAD like here, which can help someone tell you how they're feeling.
- You can also use something called PECS which uses pictures to help people who are non-verbal communicate. But mom, you know what's cool?Using both the device and PECS is so much better!
- I learned about this little girl Maya whose parents saw her progress in speech using these communication tools. Maya went from babbling to being able to speak in complete sentences using the device. It was amazing to watch!
- And mum, that's not even it! Some people communicate through their art. They are able to tell their stories and have a voice. It's so inspiring!
- Mum, just because someone is non-verbal, doesn't mean they don't have a lot to say. They just need the right resources and learn how to use it.
