  • Somewhere in a school far far away...
  • Give me all your lunch money NOW
  • Why are you doing this!?!?
  • I NEED to show Mark that I can bully more people than him! And I gotta make sure that everyone knows I'm the best. Plus, you always have a lot of lunch money!!!
  • You're acting exactly like America when they used the foreign policy of imperialism
  • Somewhere in a school far far away...
  • Imperialism is a foreign policy that strong countries use to take economic, military, or political control over weaker places.
  • I'm gonna have no problem beating you up...Wait what's imperialism?
  • Wait.. When did America use imperialism? They would never try to take over weak territories.
  • Well, American Imperialism became big around the late 1800's. Strong countries in Europe and Asia were in a race to gain the most territories. The US decided to join. All of these countries were imperialists. During the Spanish-American War, the US annexed Hawaii, claiimed Puerto Rico Guam, and the Philippines as territories
  • But why would they need to be imperialists?
  • Well there are four reasons for imperialism: market, military strength, competition, and cultural superiority. At that point, America believed that they needed to keep up with other countries and build new markets everywhere. Also, the belief of racial and cultural superiority of Americans made the US want to spread their government and beliefs everywhere. Additionally, taking these territories showed others it strength as a nation.
  • UGH! This is boring. See ya NERD!
  • After gaining so much, the new president Theodore Roosevelt also desired and believed that the US should have more power.
