- step 1. Creation of the Bill
- I totally agree, we have to say something to our Representative.
- I have an idea! We should only have four days of school.
- step 2. The Bill is Proposed and Introduced
- I like this idea and it seems legitimate. What do the rest of you think?
- This seems pretty reasonable.
- step 3. The Bill Goes to a Committee and is Debated
- I support this idea, lets just make it four and a half days.
- A citizen or Representative will come up with an idea that will be proposed. If the Representative agrees with the idea, it will be officially written up into a Bill by the Representative
- step 4. The Bill Is Voted On
- Aye!
- The Bill will be looked over and hopefully, get a sponsor. Once the Bill has a sponsor and support from other Representatives, it will be introduced to the House of Representatives. Then The Speaker of the House decides if it will be sent to a committee.
- step 5. The Bill is Referred to the Senet
- Yes.
- The members of the committee and Representatives who are experts on the specific category will debate and vote if the Bill should be sent back to the House floor. Then a debate happens and the Representatives make changes to the bill based on what they agree and disagree on. It is then that the Bill will be ready to officially be voted on.
- step 6. The Bill is Sent to the President
- We now have an official new law Mr. Mike!
- When the people vote, there are two ways it happens. It will either be voted on by voice and they will say "aye" or "no."Or The Speaker of the House will ask the Representatives who support the bill to stand and will take a headcount. Then ask the Representatives who don't support the Bill to stand and then will take a headcount of them and compare the numbers. If most of the Representatives support it, it will be sent to the House of Representatives and then the Bill will be certified by the Clerk of the House and sent to the Senate of the U.S.

- Once the Bill is with the Senate it will again be discussed, and voted on. The Senates vote by voice and if enough say, "yes" then it is officially passes to the U.S Senate and ready to be sent to the president.

- The President will either sign the bill and it will become an official law. Or will veto it and then the bill will have to be sent back to the House of Representatives and after that if two-thirds of the Senates still vote yes the veto will be excused and the bill becomes a law. Or the President will do nothing and after ten days if nothing is done the bill will become a law unless Congress is not in session.
