- The book takes place in the London prison furnace penitentiary. At the beginning of the book we are introduced to the speaker but not his name and toby which is the speaker best friend. Later we are told that the speakers name was Alex and he claims that his life went to hell when he was 12 years old and he was at school and stole someone's money
- Climax
- Alex ends up falling into a bad path and starting robbing and stealing things. One day Toby and Alex went to rob a house but were frightened when they saw two guards in the house
- Falling Action
- They escaped
- How did you let this happen
- The guards end up pulling out a gun and shooting Toby in the head and he dies. The guards then told Alex that he better start running and they would see him very soon. Toby ran and eventually got caught by the police because he was framed for murder. Alex was then taken to the prison and that's where he saw the guards and realized that he had been framed. He was later taken furnace under the prison which is where the worst crimes go and he later realized that everyone their had gone through the same thing.
- Resolution
- Alex, Zee, and Donavan make an escape and begin their escape plan. Gary Owens almost messes up the whole plan but Donavan offers to help him escape. Donovan ends ends up being taken that night by of the guards. Alex and his friends continue their escape plan and they go into the collapsed mine and blow open the crack
- The guards realized what was happening and go after Alex and his friends. Zee blows up another bomb to shut the crack. Alex and his friends fall into like a cave or underground river and Alex gets knocked out from the fall. Zee saves Alex by dragging him out of the water.
- Alex, Zee, and Gary escaped prison
