  • Key Question: How do we name, recognise and describe 2-D shapes? Aim: To teach learners how to name, recognise and describe 2-D shapes
  • Morning grade 2's. Lets get started on Mathematics. Let's settle down and look at 2-D shapes
  • Introduction
  • critical thinking- learners have to think what the shapes look like, similarities and differences.
  • Here are straws, I want each of you to make a circle, square, rectangle & triangle
  • 18 October 2021 What do we call these shapes? 2-D shapes. Shapes that are flat.
  • These are 2-D shapes Ma'am
  • Principle 1: The making of shapes using straws and a discussion will prior knowledge to be revealed and linked to.
  • Introduction
  • 18 October 2021 Discuss what the shapes look like. Can you see any similarities and differences between them?
  • Principle 2: learners are not given too much information. Principle 5:making the shapes& having a discussion will prompt learners to focus and pay attention to the lesson
