Storyboard Text

  • The Proclamation of 1763
  • We have territory in North America!
  • And we also have total control of the fur trade!
  • Sugar Act
  • You can't just tax foreign goods!
  • Yeah, it's quite annoying.
  • Stamp Act
  • Dang all of these materials are all produced in London.
  • After the French and Indian War British had a lot of control in North America. King George wanted to keep his territory in North America so he issued the Proclamation Of 1763. This act did not allow colonists living on the west of the Appalachian Mountains on Native American Lands. This allowed the British to control the fur trade.
  • Quartering Act
  • This is a pretty home, glad we could take refuge in it.
  • The Sugar Act taxed foreign goods such as sugar, wines, coffee, etc. Colonists got mad and said that the new taxes were not fair to just tax foreign goods. But the colonists had no right to change it because they didn't have representatives in the parliament.
  • Townshend Acts
  • We are STILL getting taxed!
  • The Stamp Act was when Great Britain put a direct tax onto the British Colonies in America, The Stamp Act required that materials that were printed had to be produced on stamped paper in London.
  • Intolerable Acts
  • The Quartering Act was an act of the British Parliament that were required local colonies to provide the British Soldiers with housing and food.
  • The Townshend Acts was when Charles Townshend imposed popular items to be taxed including glass, paint, lead, paper, and more.
  • The Intolerable Acts was after the Boston Tea Party when Lord North tried to help the colonists by giving them cheap tea but the colonists were so angry they threw the "cheap tea" overboard as well. So then the British Government punished the colonists .
  • You are under arrest!
