- The Story of Gilgamesh and Enkidu slaying the forest demon, Humbaba.
- "Enkidu, look at the height of these forest trees. They are unlike anything I've seen before."
- "Ah, yes! Humbaba has been here ... look at his footprints!"
- During the night, Gilgamesh pours flour onto the ground as an offering to the sun god, Shamash.
- "Enkidu, I have woken from a terrible dream. A huge mountain fell on top of us as we were walking through a deep gorge."
- "Ah, Gilgamesh we have nothing to worry about my friend. Humbaba's dead body is the mountain that you have dream't of. We will succeed."
- "I'm coming! I'm coming!"
- "Come on Gilgamesh, we have hundreds of miles to walk to get to Humbaba!!"
- Again, during the night Gilgamesh pours flour on the ground for Shamash in order to get protection.
- "Enkidu, I have had another horrible dream of a bull that has attacked me. I could hear the bull bellowing in my face ... then I heard someone offer me water."
- "Stop that crazy talk, you have nothing to be afraid of. The bull was not our enemy Humbaba, but Shamash. And it was your father who offered the water to drink."
- At last the two men reached the mountain of the gods. A place forbidden to mortals.
- "We shall not spare you. For we have come to far through the forest to give up now. We must come back with a trophy in order to have our fame!!!"
- "Please spare me, I will serve you for the rest of my days alive. Edkidu is only jealous of you Gilgamesh."
- Finally the two men slay Humbaba and sail off on a raft back to their city with Humbaba's head.
