- Explantion
- I'll just take you out now, so that you wont have a chance to come at me
- You get a chance to chop now, but in a year i get a chance to chop you
- Gawains journey
- In the beggining of the poem, there are people over in King aurthers hall- gawain being one of them. The green knight rides in and proposes that they all play a friendly game, but mentions that it involves chopping anothers head off. Sir gawain volunteers to play because he wont be missed by anyone.
- Green knights castle
- The green knight explains the game. Gawain will be able to take a swing at the green knight and if he misses they wait a year and a day for the others turn. Sir gawain chops off the green knight head but the head begins to alk once chopped so the knight takes his head and leaves.
- Green knight swings
- I have waited a whole year and a day for this and you dont die?!!
- Sir gawain keeps his word to the game and makes his way to find the green knight. he travels along with this trusty steed, gringolet
- A gesture
- It is lord bertilak. You attemted to con me, but failed. You attempted your cheats, and for that i cleanse you for your sins, and you can keep the sash.
- Durning his travels, Gawain stops at the green knights castle. He meets Lady bertilak, the wife of lord bertilak and she gives sir gawain a sash as a gift. She said if he wears this sash he will not be killed
- Take this!! You will not die if you have this.
- The green knight and sir gawain find eachother, the green knight is ready for his turn with the game. The green knight swings 3 times and on the 3rd time scratches sir gawain on the neck. With gawain wearing the sash he is unharmed

- In the end, the green knight revels his true identity and that he is actully lord bertilak. Gawain admitted he cheated, but did not admit to the sash. The green knight appericates gawains honesty and frees him of all sins.
- I used the sash, because I didnt want to die, I didnt play fair.
