This place shall be called "The Lord Will Provide" for as he did so!
God told Abraham to go to a mountain in the region of Moriah and sacrifice his one and only son as a burnt offering. Abraham did as the Lord told him and took his two servants and son and set off for the place God would show him.
Abraham took his son up the mountain to do as the Lord told him. As Abraham was about to sacrifice his son an Angel of the Lord stopped him and told him to not sacrifice him and to sacrifice a ram that was caught in the thicket.
The Lord called out to Abraham again and swore to him that his descendants would be great and he would be a blessing. After Abraham had sacrificed the ram he named the mountain "The Lord will provide" and set off to Beersheba.
