- I'm so upset with my work! They don't pay me enough!
- We can't do that here in Winnipeg! The police will get us!
- I want to do what the Bolsheviks did with the Red Scare!
- It's 1919! There's no reason why we are being treated so poorly! People are dying, getting injured, or even losing their jobs because they're unsafe. We need a workers union! Everyone in our factory agrees! I heard this first from the metal workers.
- I want higher wages! Metal workers deserve more! We are starting a union! We are going to strike!
- That sounds communist to me! You may NOT form a union or strike!
- 8 hour work days!

- I can't believe my actions involved in the strike got me sent to prison! I'm not even communist! I'm not an immigrant - I'm a citizen of Winnipeg! They didn't have to send the military! I never wanted to be part of "Bloody Saturday"
- I can't believe I lost my job because I was involved with the strike.
- It wasn't all bad - we now have labor leaders who are involved in politics and making decisions. They even started a new party called the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation
