- René remembers that he cannot contradict the Church's believes. The Church didn't like other people contradicting them because they thought their ideas came from God, and no one can contradict them.
- Now this book, this book will show the world moral codes...

- René desires to write another book, and so he writes "Discourse", a book which tells people some of the moral codes everyone should respect.
- René wants people to respect the moral laws, for one purpose, to seek the truth.
