- Akbar let people of other religions practice their faith. This united his people because it showed his tolerance.
- Empires Decline
- Shah Jahan wanted to build a monument to his dead wife and for it to be as beautiful as her.
- Western Traders
- Aurangzeb forced many hated laws. He also taxed non-Muslims.
- The empire declined under Aurangzeb's reign because he drained the empire of its resources.
- Western traders gained power in the region. Aurangzeb unwillingly gave them the port of Bombay which helped to make them India's next conquerors.
