- Painful swellings called buboes would appear on the diseased person's armpits and groin. Each were the size of an egg up to an apple.
- Day 4
- Blood from the nose was a sign of inevitable upcoming death.
- Day 5
- The diseased vomited and developed a fever.
- Day 6
- Bleeding under skin resulted in dark blotches.
- The Black Death attacked the nervous system which made the diseased experience terrible pain.
- The buboes would burst open and black liquid oozed out from the boils, suffering in pain.
