- in 1775 a article was pubished by Thomas Paine called "The American Crisis". This was written to inspire americans to become independent.
- After crossing Delaware River in a storm, George Washington’s army defeated Hessian mercenaries at Trenton. The americans claimed victory.
- The Battle of Princeton was a battle fought near Princeton in 1777. where General Lord Cornwallis left British troops under Lieutenant Colonel Charles Mawhood command. This war ended in victory for the Colonials.
