- Ordinary World
- Missy Greer (AKA Taylor) lives in small town Kentucky with her mom, going to school and working at a hospital taking blood samples to make some cash. Unlike many of the girls in her town, she beat teen pregnancy and definitely doesn't want to be a housewife
- Getting bored of the repetitive Kentucky lifestyle and lack of inspiration in her hometown. She decides to leave Kentucky and buys a beat up car driving all the way across the country with no exact destination.
- CALL TO ADVENTURE
- After driving for some time she takes a quick break in a small bar. While preparing to leave, shes handed a child by a mysterious lady in the middle of the night, not knowing whether to take the child or not.
- Refusal Of The Call
- Continuing onward, taking the mysterious child. Her car gives in and breaks down, she breaks down near a tire shop and meets Mattie. Mattie, an independent tire shop owner that does everything herself, this inspires Taylor to do things people never thought a woman could do.
- Meeting The Mentor
- At first Taylor wanted to drive as far as she could, not planning to raise a child, it being the main reason she leaves her hometown. Not planning to stay in Arizona, as time goes by she realizes she wants to stay and raise Turtle to the best of her ability with the help of Mattie.
- Crossing The Threshold
- Along with Mattie, Taylor meets her new roommate Lou Ann while looking for a semi-permanent place to stay. Lou Ann and Taylor get along very well ,fast, Lou Ann always laughs at Taylors jokes and relates to her very well, as they start to live together growing a strong bond. Along with Lou Ann Taylor meets many other allies with different stories to tell.
