Storyboard Text

  • Harriet Quimby about to take flight
  • 3...2...1...
  • Ruth Law and her story
  • Amelia the great
  • It is 1912, and Harriet Quimby is in her plane (Bleriot Monoplane), about to take off and fly over the English Cannal, when she asks herself the question, "am I the only women with a pilots license"? At the time yes, but not long after Harriet Quimby got her license many other women received there's!
  • Bessie the Best
  • Their was Ruth Law one year after Harriet flew over the English Cannal. She was the first women to fly at night! She also became the first women to wear a military uniform. Ruth had asked to fly in combat, but was turned down. Even though she didn't fly in combat she still made a difference for the future women!
  • All The Women in Aviation
  • After Ruth Law, Amelia Earheart took her first solo flight in 1921. Ten years after her first solo flight, she became the president of the Ninety-Nines! Sadly, on an expedition across the Pacific Ocean in 1937, her plane disappeared along with herself.
  • In 1921, there was also a women named Bessie Coleman. She became the first person/women to receive their pilots license issued to an African American!
  • Although these women faced many challenges weather it was flying to Europe to get their license, protesting for their rights for almost 100 years, or being refused to be taught to fly, they never let that shut their-selves down. Instead they did everything they could to pursue their dream. And now look at them, they are history and rolemodles for generations to come!
