- Once upon a time, there was a king. This king wanted a new pure gold crown and gave some gold to a goldsmith to make a new crown. But once this crown arrived, the king was skeptical that he may have been conned out of real gold. So this king called someone named Archimedes to find out if this crown's density matched up with how much density pure gold has, which is 19.3 g/mL.
