- Martha was a straight A student. Every 8th year graduation, a beautiful scholarship jacket to the student who had maintained the highest grade. Martha was hoping she would get it.
- When Martha was going to get her shorts, she overheard her teachers, Mr. Boon and Mr. Schmidt, arguing about her.
- I don't care who her father is! Martha has been a straight A+ student and you know it!
- Look, Joann's father is not only in the board, but he owns the only shop in town.
