- Grandma, what was it like living during the great depression?
- Let me tell you all about it!
- When the stock market crashed there was a huge bank run. People pulled out their money so fast that many banks had to go out of business. This caused a world wide panic of people scared that they were going to lose all their money.
- The dust bowl hit my family really hard since my dad was a famer.
- We've lost most of our money since none of our crops are selling and trade has been slowed down greatly!
- We looked to the president for help but he belived that we needed to be independent.
- My family would often go to soup kitchens becuase we didn't have that much money and it was either soup or eating our livestock.

- I belive that if we try and help the population too much they will depnd on us too much. Instead of giving money I will give people oppertunitys of work that will also benifit the country.
- My mom was a teacher and with the great depression she experienced a big cut from her salery.
- I'm very scared that I might lose my jobs and these kids won't get an education.
