Storyboard Text
- Once there lived a boy called Cupid. He loved his mother, Aphrodite, so when she was angry, he was always there to help.
- Psyche was the most beautiful girl. This was very irritating for Aphrodite. While Psyche's father wanted someone to marry his daughter, but no one wanted to take her because they thought they couldn't take care of her.
- Aphrodite asked Cupid to shoot his love arrow at her to make her fall in love with the ugliest man in the crowd. So Cupid chose a man and aimed at Psyche, but once he saw her face he dropped the arrow on his foot, causing him to fall in love with her.
- By now Psyche's father was Zeus's wingman and was told by Zeus Psyche would marry a demon. After a lot of hassle, Psyche's father decided to drop Psyche at the top of a mountain for the demon to pick her up.
- Psyche's father had rules for marriage. Psyche was only allowed to see the "demon"-Cupid at night so that she couldn't see him and if she tried to see his face he would leave. By now she knew Cupid wasn't a demon. So night after night she came.
- Cupid told Psyche to shine a lamp on his face while he slept, to see what he looked like so she did, and saw he was Cupid! In shock, he awoke, spilling hot oil in his eyes causing Cupid to go blind. This is how the phrase "Love is blind" was created.
