- 1. Non- renewable resources cannot be replenished in a short period of time. Once they are exhausted, it takes millions of years for these resources to get renewed. They are the most common to fulfill our needs to live our lives
- Example: Coal- It is used as fuel to cook food.
- 2. Petroleum is formed from the remains of plants and animals buried under the sea by the decomposition, millions of years ago. Its combustion leads to emission of Carbon Dioxide. The emissions from the extraction and consumption of petroleum degrades our environment. Hence, it affects the natural greenhouse gas levels of our environment. Thereby affecting human health and causing skin and eye irritation many other health problems
- Kerosene: Fuel for stoves, lamps etc.
- Paraffin Wax: Candles, Vaseline etc.
