- I hope we do something different at school today. Im tired of looking at the textbook everyday.
- Me too! School is sooooo boring.
- Teachers are looking for ways to blend traditional learning with new technology. One way teachers are doing this, is to incorporate game based learning into their lessons that they are planning. Game based learning goes back several centuries. The game of Kreigsspiel was invented in 1812 specifically to teach Prussian officers strategy.
- Class, I noticed that you seem bored or not engaged when I am teaching. Line up, we're going to the computer lab.
- Games have enhanced classrooms, since 1980's and 1990's with titles such as Oregon Trail, Math Blaster, and Carmen San Diego. In the early 2000s, schools adopted new technology such as LeapPads and other technologies to educate and engage students inside and outside of the classroom.

- Game-based learning is not just about giving students games to play. The purpose is create a more positive learning environment while students take ownership of their learning.
