- You will fight for your country. I will give you two grenades. One to kill 10 Americans and the other to kill yourself.
- Hideki and the Blood and Iron Corps were forced to fight the better trained, more equipped, stronger Americans. Hideki's became scared because of his Mabui and he ran away. After this fight HIdeki was on his own, on a quest to find his family and have peace with his Mabui.
- Hideki was all alone. Now to find his family.

- I recommend Grenade because it showcases to perspectives of World War ll. It shows HIdeki from Okinawa on Japan's side and it shows Ray on the US side. Also this book can teach you to be brave and Hideki had to survive on his own. Hideki goes through several trials and it is not easy for him. Read this book to find out if Hideki lives or dies.
