- The colonist were being taxed but no vote in parliament and no say the colonies were being governed
- The second continental congress may 1775
- A group of men met up to discuss the crisis in colonies. Crisis exploded in war and they set up a continental army with George Washington .
- The french alliance 1777
- British soldiers in boston were sent to capture militias weapons and British troops marched to concord. The first two battles of the american revolution were fought at concord and lexington.
- The treaty of Paris 1783
- They met in Philadelphia to discuss the next move of colonists.All government powers come from people. The declaration of independence created the united states. It was also adopted on July 4, 1776
- The french brought supplies and weapons. They also trained warships and soldiers. The american army defeated the British. That victory lead to French to join the Americans to defeat their old rival.
- Britain recognized the independence of the United States. American,French, and Britain signed the treaty of Paris to end the war.
