- In the 15th century, the Philippines was invaded by the Spaniards. They took there products, the territories and burned the temple of Bathala- the Philippine leader of the gods.

- However, there is a small house in a big mountain with a couple who follow Bathala's orders. Because of this, Bathala gave them a son named Bernardo Carpio, a boy with unmatchable strength.

- The years have passed, Bernardo had grown bigger and the Spaniards were worried that Bernardo would destroy them so they became friends with Bernardo until Bernardo joined the Spaniards.
- Plan: Trick, I mean, Be friends w/ Bernardo!
- Meanwhile, there were Philippine rebels destroying Spanish towns and cities. Bernardo and the Spaniards went to their base and demolised the rebels. Bernardo wanted to explore the base when he realized that his parents were there too! They explained that they teamed up with the rebels because the Spaniards nor their son even helped them.

- Suddenly, the ground shook and Bathala was angry. " Since you have disobeyed my orders, these mountains will collide causing this country to sink in the ocean," said Bathala. Bernardo stopped the mountains from colliding but the mountains tried to crush Bernardo.

- So nowadays when there's an earthquake in the Philippines, it means that Bernardo is struggling to break free from the mountains.
