- Light notices there is another person in the world with the same ability as him. He meets Misa Amane, a girl that basically worships him and his ideals, she was ready to do anything for him. Light sees her as a great opportunity.
- Ultimate Boon
- After being unsuccessful many times he decides to join the police force where L works, coincidentally his dad is the head of the police department working on this case. He decides his only goal now is to get rid of L and he leaves Misa to take care of the killings so there is no suspicion on why the killings suddenly stopped
- Refusal to Return
- Light gains trust from L by giving little bits of helpful information, though L is reluctant. Light learns that a god of death can kill too before a person's death day, and so he says to Misa's got of death (Ren) to do it and Misa will be safe, as Ren cares for her unlike Ryuk does for Light.
- Freedom to Live
- Ren decides he does it and then dies himself making Misa forget everything that had happened and that she has met Light. L's death caused the case to be closed and people to lose hope.
- Death Note
- Light returns to his "normal" life and he decides to continue on his ideal, which triggers L's predecessor (Near) to pick up on the case this time with more on an advantage than L because he knew so much information was found out already.
- Now that Light is discovered he tries to flee with still no regret and he ends up dying due to a gunshot. What kills him though is a heart attack sent by Ryuk as it was Light's written time of death. People once again lived without the fear of dying because of minor crimes and if they go against someone who wanted to be a god of the world
