- The narrator is introduced and wants to prove to the readers that he isn't insane

- The narrator lives in the same house as the old man, the narrator does not like the old man because the old man has a disturbing eye that looks like a vulture eye which makes him nervous.
- Falling Action
- The narrator had enough looking at the disturbing vulture eye and he grabs his knife and goes to the old mans room every say at night and he will kill him right when he sees the vulture eye
- Resolution
- TICK TOCK TICK TOCK
- Finally, one evening, the old man wakes up and screams, the narrator pulls him off the bed and smothers him with a mattress until he can no longer feel the heartbeat of the old man.
- Ahhhhhh
- Summoned by a neighbor cops started to show up in the narrators front door and said thst they heard a complaint that a nieghbor heard screaming
- The story ends when the narrator believes he hears a ticking noise that grows louder and louder, and he believes he heard the old mans heart still beating and confesses about the murder
