Storyboard Text

  • Situational Irony
  • Dramatic Irony
  • Verbal Irony
  • This is situational because Ms. Fairchild thought Mr. Easton was the marshal the text says, “Don’t you worry about them, miss,” said the other man. “All marshals handcuff themselves to their prisoners to keep them from getting away. Mr. Easton knows his business.”
  • It is dramatic irony because throughout the whole story we thought Mr. Easton is the marshal and at the end, it is revealed that Mr. Easton is the prisoner and the glum faced man is the marshal the text says, "Young! exclaimed the first speaker, "why -- Oh! Didn't you catch on? Say-- did you ever know an officer handcuff a prisoner to his right hand?"
  • This is situational irony because we thought Mr. Easton was the marshal but he was actually the prisoner and the text says "Young! exclaimed the first speaker, "why -- Oh! Didn't you catch on? Say-- did you ever know an officer handcuff a prisoner to his right hand?"
