- Metals and non-metals , just as the name suggests are quite opposite to each other, hence their properties too.. Metals are lustrous/shiny in appearance, smooth , ductile and sonorous.Ductility is the property of gettig drawn in to wires and sonority is when a ringing sound is produced when metal is struck with something hard. Metal is also usually hard and highly malleable and good conductors of heat and electricity.
