  • The title page
  • French RevolutionBy Ethan
  • Storming of the Bastille
  • July 14, 1789
  • Declaration of the rights of man and the citizen
  • Reign of terror
  • The revolutionaries of the national assembly needed to kick things off, so they stormed the Bastille, a prison-fortress towering over Paris as a symbol of royal tyranny. The soldiers defending it mostly defected to the revolutionary side, and the leader of the fortress, Governor DeLaunay, had his head put on a pike. The revolution gained weapons, men, and ammo, a huge win.
  • Rise of Napoleon
  • This was a historic document that said all men are created equal, regardless of race or social status, and deserve the same rights and liberties no matter what. This helped with things like the end of slavery and the french revolution.
  • Fall of napoleon
  • The reign of terror was a period when anyone even remotely suspected of being anti-revolution was sent to the guillotine. It was made possible by Robespierre (and by viewers like you, thank you.) It eventually ended with Robespierre execution (as seen here.)
  • The young general napoleon overthrew Robespierre's government and appointed himself as first consul for life then emperor and won a lot of coalition wars against other European countries.
  • By the 6th coalition war, they had surrounded Paris. He then surrendered and got exiled to Elba and had a pretty good time. But then he came back and lost at Waterloo but got defeated and sent to st Helena where he lived out the rest of his years.
