Back then it was mostly used by the wealthy and big company's to communicate over wide spaces around the world. A needle was connected to the battery which was connected to the receiver, when someone would speak, it would send vibrations through the needle which was then made into an electric current.
  • Airplane (Wright Brothers)
  • The Cotton Gin Was a machine that was created in 1794 By Eli Whitney that played a massive role in mass producing clean cotton. Cotton that was picked by slaves couldn't just be used right after, it had to be cleaned. The cotton gin was a machine where cotton was inserted on one half and it went through sharp nails and spikes that cleaned sticks, and seeds from the cotton so it could be mass produced. before the cotton gin its most likely slaves or workers had to clean the cotton by hand.
  • Spinning Jenny (James Hargreaves)
  • The spinning jenny makes spinning cotton so much more easier! I can now spin 8 at a time instead of doing 1 with my hands!
  • Henry Ford, The founder of Ford, a car company, Invented the model T Car in 1908 as a cheap car that any middle class family could afford. The Model T Automobile was the first mass produced car in the early 1900's.
  • Steam Engine (Thomas Newcomen)

  • The Wright Flyer, The first ever airplane invented in 1903 was designed by Wilbur and Orville Wright in Dayton Ohio. It was a very heavy flying plane that ran off gas and had a Four cylinder engine. The engine weighed in at about 170 pounds and delivered 12 horsepower. It was significant because it weighed 605 pounds in all! Now just imagine 605 pounds flying in the air! Right now it doesn't seem that hard, but at the time it was a world changing accomplishment..
  • Your Right Orville We are champions! Thanks to Charlie Taylor, We have an amazing engine it runs off of!
  • I cant believe it Wilbur! We finally have created the worlds first heavy airplane! We are champions!!!
  • Along with the cotton gin, The spinning jenny, created by James Hargreaves in 1770 helped revolutionize the textile industry in the industrial revolution. When you had all of the clean cotton from the cotton gin how would you make the actual clothing? Well you would have to do it by hand, but the spinning jenny spun 8 strings of cotton at once so it could be mass produced.
  • The steam powered engine was a new type of engine that revolutionized many inventions like the power loom that was in textile factories. Instead of using water, or human power it used air pressure so it was less work and less energy that was being used. Steam pressure would simply push a piston back and forth over again into a cylinder creating energy. It was invented in 1712 which was the second model but worked a lot better.
