- Waking up Walter
- "Walter Lee...its seven-thirty! Let me see you do some waking up in there now!
- The Youngers are a family of 5 that live in a 2 bedroom apartment
- Bathroom situation
- *cooking eggs* "What you mean out? He ain't hardly got in there good yet."
- "Is he out yet?"
- Ruth is Travis mother waking him up for school, Travis sleeps on the couch of his apartment
- Walter and Ruths argument in the kitchen
- "Whats the matter with you"
- Ruth wakes up walter with anger 
- After Walter gets out the shower and Travis goes to school
- "That money belongs to mama, walter, and its for her to decide how she wants to use it. "
- "Have we figured out yet just exactly how much medical school is going to cost?"
- Ruth is a bit angry this morning for a reason Walter does not know
- Walter still doesn't know why Ruth is mad
- "Ain't nothing the matter with me. And don't keep asking me that this morning"
- Beneatha wakes up and argues with walter about the $10,000 check coming in for momma
