  • Nostos = homecoming
  • Murray-Penelope is equally heroic to Odysseus due to her experience with the suitors. Ahuvia Kahane-Odysseus's actions are motivated by his nostos and the reassertion of his identity in Ithaca. Silk-Silk claims that Odysseus appears as the anti-hero and it is a tale of revenge where as for a Homeric audience where the love between husband and wife was crucial, it is a tale of justice. Lillian Doherty-Penelope and Athena are the two figures who emulate the characters of Odysseus. C.R Trahman-The skill of Odysseus shows in his lies only supports his most heroric trait, his wits and intelligence. Duffy-Fate is the tool of Zeus, not its own free entity. The will of Zeus and fate are the same.
