Storyboard Text

  • Arithmetic Density
  • People are not actually spread out like this in real life.
  • Physiological Density
  • Only a certain amount of people can be sustained by this land.
  • Agricultural Density
  • This farmer is very technological advanced, he only needs himself and technology to do his work.
  • The total number of people divided by the total land area, certain number of people in a given radius. Geographers often use this to compare conditions in different countries as the information is easier to obtain, though it's not accurate as to where people are distributed, as people aren't evenly distributed throughout the land.
  • The number of people sustained by a certain area of arable land (land that is farm-able). Geographers use this to better understand the capacity people rely on certain amounts of land for food.
  • The ratio of farmers to arable land. Geographers can use this to determine development of a country, for example, developed countries will have more arable land compared to farmers due to better technology and less people required to work, and the opposite for developing countries.
