- After ponduring on a solution, the Narrator comes to a conclusion: Take the Old mans life to get rid of the eye FOREVER
- I have to do something about that old Mans pale blue vulture eye. It haunts me day and night! ...I made up my mind, I will kill the old man
- Every night the Old Man's eye was closed so it was not possible to do his work. But on the eighth night he got a feeling, a feeling that success was near.
- Every midnight, for a week The Narrator crept in and watched The Old Man sleep.
- The sound of the beating of The Old Mans heart grew louder and my anger became greater. The time had come! I rushed into the room, pulled the bed over him, The deed was done, his eye would trouble me no more.
