Storyboard Text

  • I should do my assignment but i haven't encountered these words before.
  • I should use my computer to research the meaning of these words.
  • Wow! There are 4 theorist who are Involved in the history of Stellar Nucleosynthesis. Arthur Eddington, George Gamow, Hans Bethe and Fred Hoyle.
  • George Gamow developed a formula to calculate the probability of such reactions taking place (Gamow Factor). Hans Bethe proposed 2 processes used to convert hydrogen to helium: proton to proton cycle and CNO cycle.
  • Arthur Eddington suggested that nuclear fusion reactions were taking place in the stars and the conversation of hydrogen to helium was the stellar source of energy. Fred Hoyle stated that even heavier nuclei are forming ins stars, such as carbon and iron.
  • But what is Stellar Nucleosynthesis and cosmic ray spallation?
  • Oh! Stellar Nucleosynthesis is the process by which elements are created within stars by combining the protons and neutrons together from the nuclei of lighter elements.
  • While Cosmic ray spallation, also known as the x-process, is set of naturally occurring nuclear reaction causing nucleosynthesis. it refers to the formation of chemical elements from the impact of cosmic rays on an object.
