- The legislature in the Virginia Plan would have representation based of population. Big states favored the Virginia plan because it gave them more power.
- We should have a single house legislature with equal representation regardless of population.
- Brilliant idea!
- Lets have a legislature to make laws, an executive branch to enforce laws, and a judicial branch to interpret the laws.
- The New Jersey plan proposed a single house legislature that would have two seats of representation regardless of population. Smaller states liked the New Jersey plan since it gave them equal power.
- The Virginia plan gives big states too much power!
- There are three branches in the new government. Legislature, Executive, and Judicial. The Senate follows the new Jersey plan with equal representation, and the House of Representatives follows the Virginia plan with representation based on population.
- As a bigger state, we should have more power.
- How about we combine the two, and have a "Great Compromise".
- Small states also need representation.
