- Life at home changed considerably as the war continued. Rations were created to save food for soldiers overseas. These rations applied to things like coffee, cheese, and even milk.
- Women took the place of the men who had left to fight in the war. While women had the opportunity to work, racism in the workplace continued to be prevalent until FDR issued a statement banning discrimination.
- I'm so glad we can finally do our part for this war and actually have a job!
- Yeah! I feel like I'm really doing something to help!
- Yeah! Why do they pay me less than my co-workers for the same amount of work?
- They turned me down! What makes me different from those women over there?
